Fundraising

We couldn’t have done it without you. We raised an amazing amount of money on our Welly Walk. At the moment our total stands at about £400 - this is a great amount and will make a huge difference. We will be updating our outdoor playground benches.

Plant and Cake Sale

Our very popular cake and plant sale will be held on Friday 16 th May at 3.30 on the grass area in front of preschool.
If you have any donations of plants or cakes, please let staff know.

Sun cream and hats

As we are now hopefully moving into the warmer weather the children will be outside more. Please can you ensure that you send your child with a labelled sun hat and sun cream. We would be grateful if you could apply the sun cream before children come to preschool in the morning and for those who attend all day we will reapply this after lunch.

10 keys to unlocking school readiness

The 10 keys have been identified by Derbyshire parents, carers and professionals. These will help everyone understand what children developing typically for their age should be able to do by the time they start in reception class. The 10 keys for unlocking school readiness are:

I can settle happily without my parent or carer
I can tell friends and grown-ups what I need
I can take turns and share when I am playing
I can go to the toilet on my own and wash my hands
I can put on my own coat and shoes and feed myself
I can tell a grown up if I am happy, sad or cross
I know that what I do and say can make others happy or unhappy
I am curious and want to learn and play
I can stop what I am doing, listen and follow simple instructions
I enjoy sharing books with grown-ups

Safeguarding is given the highest priority at Duffield Pre-School. There may be times when adults are concerned about children in the community.
